Albert Pujols is one of the greatest hitters of all time. But the numbers make it fairer.
The Pujols are back in St. Louis for what many believe will be a final season. While playing a part-time role, Albert continues to add to his already impressive numbers.
The Cardinals rank the top ten of all time in some of the historical hitting categories the sport has to offer. The longevity of Pujols can also not be questioned, as he is the eighth date in the matches he has played.

Cardinals: Was Albert Pujols Coming Back to St. Louis Worth It?
Pujols cuts .211/.324/.367 with .691 OPS and 101 OPS+. He hasn’t made an All-Star squad since 2015, and his only appearance at the Midsummer Classic was as an Angel.
He would go into the Hall of Fame as the St. Louis Cardinal, considered by many to be the best hitter of his generation.
Players like Pujols only come once in a lifetime, if that ever happens. They earn the right to leave the game whenever they want. While Pujols has definitely been up the hill – he’s been for a while now – he wanted to play one final season with two of his closest friends and supporters at Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright. All three will likely retire this season, and all three will see their shirts retired in St. Louis as well.
The short answer to this question is yes. The stats are just an added bonus.
