Elvis family ‘overwhelmed’ in honoring Austin Butler with greater access than Paul McCartney | music | entertainment

The Elvis movie is set to finally hit cinemas next week after a world press tour that recently landed in Graceland. Elvis Presley’s home for 20 years has hosted a lavish show attended not only by director Baz Luhrmann and stars Austin Butler and Tom Hanks, but also three generations of the King’s family. Priscilla Presley arrived with her daughter Lisa Marie and granddaughter Riley Keough for the special.

Over the weekend, Elvis star Austin Butler walked out with the King’s family in Graceland, receiving an unprecedented honor, which not even Paul McCartney was allowed to access.

Riley posted on Instagram photos of the 30-year-old rocking away on Elvis’ 1956 personal Gibson J-200 in the woods room.

The King’s granddaughter commented on the post: “We spent some time with Austinbutler this week at home, in Graceland. It was such a special and overwhelming experience that I didn’t quite address it.”

Lisa Marie shared: “I want to say I’m so proud to be a part of this. I wasn’t really expecting this. I didn’t know what to expect. I saw it twice. The first time I saw it I got nervous, I would grab the chair and say, ‘Oh my God, what who will happen? How will the actor be? Would it be crazy? In my life, it has been one disappointment after another regarding people portraying my father in different films or attempts…bless their hearts…but let me tell you something. At this point, I’m telling you this with all my heart and that’s the only reason I’m here: it’s been done right.”

Elvis arrives in cinemas June 24, 2022.
