Street Fighter 6’s gameplay emphasizes a graphical feature

Capcom Busy revealed a number of Street Fighter 6 Features after the game’s debut, but after doing so, the Street Fighter creator said the team will be going into the dark to work on the game with more to share later. However, Capcom’s streaming gameplay this week revealed only one more feature before it really limits what is being said about the game. Thanks to the gameplay introduced this week, it’s as if Street Fighter 6 It will contain battle damage that persists between rounds.

The gameplay in question that appears to show battle damage can be seen below, showing Guile and Guile (both with pure hair) fighting each other. As the fight continues, you’ll notice that Guiles look worse at wear with visible injuries to them based on the damage received.

This is what “battle damage” means in this case. While it’s an ambiguous term in a combat game if you’re not already familiar with it, it refers to the visual effects of combat on a character as they take damage from opponents. It’s sometimes hard to see during the fight itself since everyone is moving a lot, but in win screens like the one at the end of a Guile fight, it’s even more evident with one of the Guiles boasting some new bruises and cuts after the melee.

This feature is not exclusive to Street Fighter 6 By any means it has been featured in previous Street Fighter games as well as other series like Mortal Kombat. However, it is not always a feature that people deal with. Some people just don’t want to see their favorite characters on display with the damage done to them regardless of the drawing. Other applications of this feature have been criticized in games such as Mortal Kombat 9, Also, as clothing – especially those worn by female fighters – has been wiped out by battle damage to the point of being useless.

Sliders or toggle option are ways to get around the sometimes graphical nature of battle damage if it’s a supported option, but since it’s only now shown during this broadcast, it’s too early to tell if that’s going to be something Capcom will offer.
