Season 1 ended on an exciting, if not slightly confusing, note, but with fans looking ahead, Netflix has just confirmed that Season 2 of Sweet Home is on the way…but season 3 as well!

Netflix renews the excellent Sweet Home series for seasons 2 and 3

On June 15, Netflix finally publicly confirmed that Seasons 2 and 3 of Sweet Home are in development.

First announced on Netflix websitewith the South Korean streaming giant’s Twitter page releasing a new trailer – see below.

“You either die or you live as a monster… Season 2 and 3 production of ‘Sweet Home’, the story of people who have gone out of the world, has been confirmed.” – Ad comment, via Netflix Korea Twitter.

Talking about confirming the future of Sweet Home, director He said That “Season 2 will include a new setting, and the technical details that we were unable to improve in the first season will be honed further in the second season.”

As Sweet Home fans around the world celebrate the news of Seasons 2 and 3 entering production, many were expecting this news to come out sooner rather than later.

according to What’s on Netflix, the show appeared in the top ten broadcast lists for 32 different regions, and ranked first in South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia among many other regions. Sweet Home also scores a solid 7.3/10 IMDB83% on rotten tomatoes and 8.7/10 in MyDramaList; Show how famous korean drama is all over the world.

Interestingly, the director of Sweet Home had already hinted at the possibility of a second season at a press conference in December 2020.

“While we were writing, we completed the end of the story ourselves, so there are a few things that came out after we finished. If the opportunity presents itself, we also want to introduce monsters that we couldn’t. We want to stay true to the original.” – Lee Eung Bok, via hustle.

On July 9, 2021, an article by sumpy He said, “Industry representatives have reported that the drama will begin filming the second season in December [2021]. Unfortunately, Netflix will after that Tabuk They denied these reports, stating that “nothing has been decided yet regarding the production of the second season.”

Then, in March 2022, new rumors about the start of production in South Korea began circulating on the Internet. There may not be a society like the K-drama community, which boasts eagle detective skills that can match any private investigator.

On March 8, a number of alleged photos from the production set for Sweet Home Season 2 circulated on social media, It said Coming from the Instagram page of lead actor director Song Kang. The first picture shows bloody shoes with explained It’s Started, with the second screenplay for the first episode and the final image supposedly from the same set.

Possible release date for Sweet Home Season 2

Although it has been announced that Seasons 2 and 3 are now in development, neither Netflix nor the showrunners have yet revealed a target release date for Sweet Home’s return. However, we can make some predictions based on the production cycle from season one and the information recently revealed about season two.

Interestingly, Never Entertainment She mentioned that the Sweet Home team will actually shoot for seasons 2 and 3 in a row, and then it’s confirmed by Netflix directly in their press release.

Today, Netflix confirms the back-to-back production of Beautiful house Seasons 2 and 3, with an extended story and crew.” — Netflix.

On the other hand, this means that the wait between seasons 2 and 3 will be much shorter than many other Netflix original titles. However, it also means fans will have to wait longer before the second season premieres, with back-to-back productions limiting how quickly the series can move to the editorial department.

Sweet Home is an adaptation of the incredibly popular Line Webtoon, but the Netflix series didn’t stick strictly to the original story. According to a translated version of the day’s interview redditthe authors did not “follow 100% of the [the] Webtoon story where they wanted to explore ‘different viewpoints’.

Fortunately, this gives the production team more creative freedom to use original materials when necessary, but also provides an opportunity to speed up filming – which was already hinted at in May 2022.

Filming for the first season took more than eight months, and production has been limited in recent weeks due to the pandemic. Assuming the second season sees a similarly intense production schedule, the hit K-drama could hypothetically return in January 2022.

However, as previously mentioned, Season 3 will be filmed immediately after Season 2, which indicates that the return date will be Summer 2023 – HITC anticipates June 2023 with an early estimate.

While the summer of 2023 may be a long way off, fans can look forward to some new cast members joining the Sweet Home family, see below.

Fortunately, fans can expect the majority of the cast from season one to reprise their roles in the second broadcast, assuming the Korean drama eventually returns to Netflix.

Interestingly, one of the reasons that Season 2 of Sweet Home was temporarily delayed after its 2020 debut was probably due to its lead, Song Kang.

Kang was a rising star in the K-drama industry when Sweet Home premiered, but the young actor has truly broken into the world ever since. Since the first season, Kang has appeared in several very popular series including Love Alarm Season 2, Navillera, However, Love Prediction and Weather.

The good news is that Kang’s schedule appears to be free for Sweet Home Season 2, which is expected to be joined by the following cast members:
