Things start with WandaVision, since then we’ve seen the likes lokiAnd the moon knight The latest return to Phase Four comes courtesy of Ms. Marvel, a small series created by Bisha K. Ali and starring Iman Vilani as the titular hero, Kamala Khan.
Fans have known about two installments so far, and we invited Episode Two to get to know them more personally.
In fact, the latest films have shed light on her flair for films thanks to a discussion revolving around Bollywood, with some films getting their name.
So, let’s dive into Ms. Marvel’s Bollywood scene.
Ms. Marvel’s Bollywood Movies Explained
Episode two sees Kamala asking Kamran if he likes Bollywood movies after she finds him listening to Swet Shop Boys in the car.
He replies that “only the greats,” citing films like “Baazigar and things like that.”
“It’s no surprise that you like Bazigar,” Kemal replies. “It’s just Shah Rukh Khan’s best work…. public opinion says DDLJ”. They both say DDLJ simultaneously, which invokes an emotional look from the protagonist.
Are movies made up? not at all!
Baazigar is a 1993 Bollywood movie and DDLJ is an acronym for the 1995 movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Both are Bollywood films starring SRK in central roles, in which the characters refer to SRK in Ms. Marvel.
Shah is a 56-year-old Indian actor often referred to as the “Baadshah of Bollywood” – the King of Bollywood – in reference to the 1999 film he starred in.
He’s earned a wealth of awards and accolades across his on-screen career, and those familiar with Bollywood cinema are sure to appreciate the cues in such mainstream American productions.

“If you want to work with us, we back off”
Co-executive producer Sana Amanat spoke with The Times of India (per Hindustan Times), revealing that she will be over the moon for Shah himself to board the series. In fact, its listing dates back to the source material:
“If SRK wants to be in that show, we’ll start shooting again! We’ll be back in production, we’ll be back in production! Call someone! SRK is actually from the comics. We have some mention of SRK in the comics because he’s been linked to Kamala’s connection to Bollywood and we love him.” Just “.
She provided some additional context: “As a Pakistani kid in Jersey, I loved Bollywood actors growing up. So incorporating that into the world of Kamala makes it more cosmopolitan and real. He’s really cool and we’re very excited about him. SRK, if you want to work with us, we support that.”
