Chris Evans wants to reprise his role as Human Torch

Evans has been lobbying Lightyear lately and found himself discussing his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America. However, this wasn’t the first time the 41-year-old actor had starred in a Marvel movie. Before he wore red, white, and blue for Steve Rogers, he played Johnny Storm, better known as the Human Torch from the Fantastic Four.

During an interview with MTV News, Evans was reminded of the role and asked if he’d like to return as the Human Torch instead of Captain America. The actor seemed somewhat receptive to the idea, stating that he liked the character and that it would be easier to convince him to return to the MCU as Johnny instead of Steve. It’s also possible to look at Marvel’s work on a new Fantastic Four, the first dedicated feature film since 2015, which leads to the possibility of him playing some kind of human torch.

Evans believes that while his long experience as Captain America is precious and he doesn’t want to upset the legacy of the role near and dear to him, he ultimately called it a “difficult task” to get him back in the red, white, and blue suit, according to Character Book. Meanwhile, he felt like he didn’t get enough to really feel it. Unfortunately, it may be a while before new information comes our way because Marvel still needs to find a replacement for John Watts, who has stepped down so he can take a break and avoid burnout.

It might be a positive if Evans finds himself again in the shoes of the human torch, not only will it allow Evans to show how much he’s come as an actor since he came out as Storm in 2005, but it could also open the door to a great spectacle. – pun intended a lot – a cameo, in case he wasn’t going to top the movie.
