Steam users can play Cult-Classic on PS3 and Xbox 360 again

After random removal, Steam users can purchase a PS3 and Xbox 360 game and play it again. Games are regularly removed from digital storefronts, usually due to expiring licenses or disputes over game copyrights. The former is the most common, and usually only affects sports and other games that use licensed music. However, sometimes games are pulled from digital storefronts and it is not clear why. for example, Alice: Madness Returns It was recently and randomly removed from Steam — not for the first time — but it’s back in the PC Store front again as of this morning.

Developed and published by EA, Spicy Horse Games, the action-adventure and psychological horror game came out on June 14, 2011. Upon release, it had a score of 74 on Metacritic, which isn’t a great score, but oddly enough that the game becomes somewhat of a classic. The fact that it is a sequel to 2000 classics American Alice McGee, may have contributed to it. Whatever the case, it was randomly plucked from Steam recently, but now it’s back.

“Eleven years ago, a horrific fire uprooted Alice’s family from her and left her mind with horrific scars. After that, she was imprisoned in the Rutledge Asylum, where she struggled to confront her demons by slipping into her fantasy world in Wonderland. Now, ten years later, she has secured her release. Finally – but still bears the heavy psychological burden of this tragic event.”

The game’s official description continues: “With her mind in tatters, she is unable to dispel the fear caused by her strange memories, dreams, and visions. Perhaps she would do better in Wonderland. She always did. She travels there, in search of what the real world cannot.” “To provide: safety, knowledge, and the truth of the past. But in their absence, wonders also suffered. A terrible error has occurred, and now a great evil descends upon what was once a beautiful refuge. Can Alice save Wonderland–and herself–from the madness that devours them?”

On Steam, the game runs at $19.99 and has a “Very Positive” rating from users, with 88 percent of 8,304 reviews rating the game positively. If you’re on a PC and have an EA Play subscription, you can also play it this way, so keep that in mind if you decide to gobble it up on Steam before possibly removing it again.
