The real main event of this Obi Wan The series would see Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reunite after Star Wars Prequels and give us another epic lightsaber fight, similar to Revenge of the Sith. The rumors indicated that Obi Wan After two rounds of dueling, but if you count Anakin’s flashback in Episode 5, we really got three rounds – and the best was definitely saved in the end.

Obi-Wan and Vader’s duel in this finale will easily go down as one of the star Wars‘The best – and in large part because the series hit all the mark making character arcs for Prequels and Original Trilogy Kenobi and Vader to resonate much more, while also making the series feel like an essential part of the fill. The amount of emotional catharsis to be found in this duel is just overwhelming – especially when we finally see Anakin’s disfigured face and Sith’s horrifying manic eyes peeking out of Vader’s broken helmet. The vocal mixing between the voice of Anakin for Hayden Christensen and the voice of Vader for James Earl Jones was a remarkable feat that will haunt fans for ages.

the other half of Obi Wan The ultimate goal was to tie the arc of Riva’s (Musa Ingram) story arc. While this is certainly the most difficult part of the ending (Reva chasing Young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine), the accuracy of the decision is just as ingenious. Riva’s true origin and Vader’s connection instantly reframe the character in a much more complex and nuanced light, and her choice to spare Luke actually reinforces one of the most easy bumps in this final chapter: why Obi-Wan Vader wasn’t killed when he had the opportunity.

Riva’s act of mercy (as Obi-Wan explains) is her redemption and peace for her dead comrades. This is how Obi-Wan sees his work in sparing Vader: His mercy is a means of not turning into the darkness he’s fighting, and bringing peace to his “dead” friend Anakin Skywalker. And when you realize that Obi-Wan’s mercy moves Vader into the ultimate salvation, it’s hard to keep a dry eye. For Reva: Star Wars paved the way for her to have a much bigger future, and we’re here for it!

…and if you can keep your eyes completely dry Obi Wanthis latest Qui-Gon Jinn appearance by Liam Neeson probably got you (also).
