Can LeBron James and Kyrie Irving return to the Lakers?
That’s the talk of the internet at the moment as the dispute over Irving’s contract with the Nets continues.
Mark Stein reported On Wednesday, there are credible signals circulating that Irving, for starters, has already had some contact recently with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, his former Cleveland teammate, to discuss the possibility of a possible Hollywood reunion.

Of course, around the same time, Stein mentioned the connection between his former classmates, and also threw cold water on the whole idea of the reunion.
“I was told it would be an exaggeration to suggest that the Lakers are currently chasing Irving,” Stein wrote.
Essentially, Los Angeles does not have the business assets it would require to entice Brooklyn into trading nor does it have the financial room to bring in Irving at a respectable salary. He had to give up Much Money to make it happen, choosing not to opt out of the $36.9 million player option while accepting only $6.39 million from Los Angeles.
James might want to play with Irving again and Irving might want to get out of Brooklyn, it’s not a scenario anyone should bet on. Irving may be an unexpected character, but even he’s not likely to part with that kind of money.
Most likely, this is all a negotiating tactic meant to pressure the Nets into giving them a better deal to stay.
Irving will have to decide whether to pick his player option with the Nets for next season by June 29. Otherwise, it will hit the free agency and the open market.
