Hulu’s ‘Woke’ has been canceled after Two Seasons

“Woke” has been canceled by Hulu, diverse Made sure on.

The series aired its second season on the streaming platform in April. The comedy series originally premiered on Hulu in September 2020.

Inspired by the life of artist Keith Knight, “Woke” stars Lamorne Morris as Keef, a black cartoonist on the verge of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything. With a new consciousness, Keef has moved on to the new voices and ideas that challenge him, all without setting fire to everything he has already built. Mixing live action with animated sequences, Keef sees and hears inanimate things talking to him as he becomes more aware of racism in his daily life. Along with Morris, “Woke” also starred in T. Murphy, Blake Anderson, Sacher Zmata, and Rose McIver.

The show was developed by Marshall Todd and Knight. They have also served as executive producers alongside Maurice “Mo Marable”, “Aisha Carr”, “Richie Schwartz”, “John Will”, “Will Gluck” and “Eric Christian Olsen”. Kate Shoemaker served as executive producer on the pilot. Sony Pictures Television and ABC Signature.
