Sundar Pichai is an Indian-American business manager who has a net worth of $600 million. Sundar Pichai is currently the CEO of Alphabet Inc, the umbrella company that owns Google. Sundar was appointed CEO of Google in August 2015. The move came as part of the restructuring process that made Alphabet Inc. The parent company of Google. It has also been argued that the rearrangement has allowed co-founders Larry and Sergey to undo the public faces of Google as the company grapples with a barrage of antitrust investigations from dozens of attorneys general, the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice.

Early life and education
Sundar Pichai was born on June 10, 1972 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, to Lakshmi stenographer parents and an electrical engineer at GEC Rigunatha. As a young man, he attended Jawahar Vidyalaya High School. Pichai went to attend the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and then the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. From the last school, he received a degree in metallurgy engineering.
After emigrating from India to the United States, Pichai attended Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. There he received a master’s degree in materials science and engineering. Pichai went to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, from which he graduated with an MBA.
career beginnings
Pichai began his career as a materials engineer, working in engineering and product management at the Silicon Valley Applied Materials Company. After that, he worked in management consulting at McKinsey & Company.

Controversies over privacy and antitrust
During his tenure as CEO of Google, Pichai stirred controversy for several reasons. First, in 2017, he was publicly questioned for firing an employee who had deplored Google’s diversity policies in a ten-page statement. In December of the following year, Pichai faced greater controversy when the US House of Representatives Judiciary Committee questioned him on a myriad of issues related to Google. Specifically, he was asked to testify regarding the company’s privacy practices and potential political bias on its platforms. In response to the privacy issue, Pichai confirmed that Google users may opt out of having their data collected.

In late 2020, the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation summoned Pichai and the CEOs of Twitter and Facebook. They were asked to testify before the commission regarding concerns about the technology industry being exempted from Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1934.
