Westworld It returns with its fourth season this weekend, and viewers will surely be curious to know what unexpected elements are in the new episodes. One of the biggest transformations in Season 3 was Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) taking over the identity of a host version of Charlotte Hill (Tessa Thompson), something that dramatically changed the path for both characters moving forward. While it’s unclear exactly how that will unfold in Season 4, the idea of both Thompson and Wood filming two versions of Dolores was apparently a unique creative experience.
Thompson explained in an exclusive interview with ComicBook.comChris Killian, which you can check out above. “I watched her perform in the city, I asked her questions, things she noticed.” Is that correct? or “Is that something you are aware of?” She was very generous. You sent me voice memos. She gave me tips about her body. She was talking about anything. Evan is so much fun. Anyway, even if I don’t play a version of her, she loves to talk about the show. “
“Sometimes it felt like talking to Evan was like being on Reddit,” Thompson added. “She has a lot of ideas, you always had a lot of theories about where the show is and what we’re talking about. So I just loved it. I’d always talk to her about the show, because she was so much fun and passionate about engaging in conversation, but especially about our invention this. That was really Fun to work on. It’s so unique to be collaborating on a character, and that’s a really generous cast, but that was a different kind of generosity. She was so cool with me.”
The fourth season of Westworld Captured seven years after the end of season three, it has been described as a “dark journey about the fate of conscious life on Earth”. The series also stars Thandie Newton as Maeve, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe, Aaron Paul as Caleb, and Ed Harris as the Man in Black.
“We have been very, very fortunate to work with this team, this crew, and now in partnership with Dennis,” co-founder Jonathan Nolan said in the 2020 interview. “When you have a show like this, you want to stay as long as you’re telling a compelling story. We’re heading toward that ending, but we haven’t quite drawn it. At this point, part of the work is looking at the rest of the story we have to tell. They’re two drives, one against the other. You don’t want to shy away from talented and wonderful people like this. They are all lovable and beautiful people, and they love working together, we love working together. At the same time, you don’t want to take your welcome long. You have a story to tell, and you want to go out without feeling like you’re overdue Bey. So we’re trying to balance these things out a little bit.”
