For centuries, humanity has wrestled with unexplained mysteries and it seems that many of these burning questions will remain unanswered forever. But that doesn’t stop this Netflix show, narrated by William Shatner, from trying to unravel these strange phenomena.
The UnXplained with Willian Shatner attempts to tackle some of the strangest and most mysterious questions known to man. These range from how the pyramids are built, for what purpose, and whether or not there is life after death. The show also investigates some of the most haunted places in the world and questions whether practices like exorcisms and voodoo could be more than just horror movies.
The documentary series also explores the world of deadly cults, catastrophic obsessions, lost civilizations, and animals with unexplainable abilities. And all of this is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s fair to say that The UnXplained covers a very large area of land, and some of it isn’t solid either. If you are a fan of debunking conspiracy theories, then you definitely need to watch this show.
The first season of The UnXplained originally aired on The History Channel in 2019, and it just hit Netflix and went straight to the top 10 live streamers list. It’s currently ranked sixth, but it may climb higher in the coming days especially if Netflix adds additional episodes soon. Based on the show’s early success on the platform, it’s highly likely that Netflix will look to make more episodes available to subscribers as soon as possible.
While Netflix subscribers watch the first 16 episodes, The UnXplained wrapped up its fourth season on the History Channel this month with an episode dedicated to the hunt for King Arthur. So far, there has been no confirmation for Season 5, but it’s still early days.
The show currently consists of a total of 53 episodes, but there are still hundreds of real-world mysteries to unravel puzzling phenomena to try to explain. A renewal seems very possible, and the chances of the show’s comeback are almost certain to be boosted by the additional interest that Netflix has generated.
So, if you’re looking for something new to watch that’s a little different, The UnXplained might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. Fair warning, the show doesn’t offer a lot of concrete answers, but if you can just enjoy the sense of mystery, you’ll likely be addicted to this oddly watchable series.
