A new report has claimed that a Marvel-related video game is currently in the works at publisher Electronic Arts. In recent years, Marvel Games has been pushing hard to create a number of different titles associated with many distinct characters. games like Spider-Man from MarvelAnd the marvel avengersAnd the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy They are just a few of the comic book brand related projects that have come up recently. And while we already know about a few other Marvel related titles that are in development right now, EA is said to be making a game out of this world as well.
According to Nick Baker, a video game industry insider, EA is in the process of creating a Marvel-related title at this very moment. subscribed to XboxEra podcastBaker said he was informed by an anonymous source of the project’s existence. Unfortunately, Baker hasn’t said anything else about the game and won’t bother with which character or teams the game could be associated with. It was also not mentioned which studio within EA might work on this title.
Overall, this wouldn’t be a surprising collaboration to see it come true at all. Marvel Games over the past two years has shown that it is ready to work with a large number of video game publishers ranging from PlayStation, 2K Games, Square Enix, and more. With EA being one of the world’s largest game publishers, it shouldn’t be shocking to see them strike a deal with Marvel to develop a title tied to the brand.
As mentioned, we already know of a large number of Marvel projects currently slated to launch in the future. Midnight from MarvelAnd the Wolverine MarvelAnd the Spider-Man from Marvel 2 These are all games that have been officially announced and will be released in the coming years. Outside of that, Skydance New Media and Creative Director Amy Hennig revealed in late 2021 the development of a Marvel-related title as well. Assuming this new report is accurate and that EA has the Marvel Project in the works as well, it will only confirm that the coming years will be pretty huge for Marvel with the gaming medium.
