The valve doubles the vapor surface charges, providing an update for the next wave of orders

Good news for anyone looking to get a Steam Deck up yet as Valve revealed that the next batch of reservations emails is set to start this week. More specifically, the last batch of Q2 reservation emails has now expired, and Q3 reservation emails are set to begin appearing on June 30. Revealing when the wave of Q3 bookings will start also indicates that Steam Deck production has rebounded. Valve expects to ship twice as many Steam Decks as in the past starting this week.

“Some great news on the production front. We just sent out the last batch of Q2 emails, and will start sending out Q3 booking emails on the 30th,” the official Steam Deck Twitter account posted yesterday, June 27 . “Production has boomed, and after today we will be shipping more than double the number of Steam Decks each week!”

All this news is surely not going to be very comforting for anyone who is keeping a new Steam Deck right now. However, more Steam platforms in the hands of more than before means reservation waiting times may be reduced. For now, all that is certain is that a new batch of reservation emails will start appearing at the end of the month and that Valve is shipping them faster than before.

As noted above, the first wave of Q3 reservation emails for Steam Deck on schedule will begin coming out on June 30. On a larger scale, Steam Deck comes in multiple different versions with the base version being $399 while the most expensive version is $649. The difference between them largely lies in the amount of storage and how fast the storage is mentioned. It’s available to pre-order now on Valve’s website, although waiting for it to be available after that is somewhat important. You can check out all of our previous coverage of Steam Deck here.
