Top Gun Award: Maverick, Stranger Things 4 Land Location Guild Awards

Top Gun: Maverick and Stranger Things are among the films and television that have won the Directors Guild Awards.

The 9th annual LMGI Awards honor outstanding and creative visual contributions by positional professionals in film, television and commercials from around the world. The winners will be honored at the LMGI Awards, and will return to the live event on August 27.

Other nominees for top spots in a contemporary TV series include “Atlanta,” “Reservation Dogs,” and “Succession.”

This year’s Best Picture winner “CODA” was nominated for “Best Locations in a Contemporary Film,” along with “Drive My Car,” “Everything Everywhere at Once,” “In the Heights,” and “No Time to Die and Top Gun

Palm Springs International ShortFest announces award winners

The Palm Springs International Shortfest has announced the winners. “Cave”, “Michael Thompson’s Sentence”, “Farther and Farthest” and “The Right Words” among the films that received the highest awards for the jury.

“Everything Everywhere At Once” leads the Hollywood Madison’s Critics’ Award nominations

The Hollywood Critics Association has announced the nominees for its fifth annual Midseason Awards, which honor the best films released during the first half of each calendar year.

Leading the nominees is “Everything Everywhere at Once” from Daniel Cowan and Daniel Scheinert, and it collected eight nominations, including Best Picture. In addition, Daniels selected director and screenplay nominations, while Michelle Yeoh, Ki Hui Kwan, and Stephanie Hsu received notices for their performances. “Everything Everywhere” closely follows Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” with five nominations, and “Top Gun: Maverick” with four. The remaining nominees for Best Picture are “Cha Cha Real Smooth”, “Elvis”, “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On”, “RRR”, “The Northman”, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” and “Turning Red”.

In addition to the main nominations, the Midseason Awards also include the Most Anticipated Movie category, for films set for the second half of the year. This year’s nominees include “Avatar: The Way of the Water,” “Babylon,” “Don’t Worry Darling,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and “Nope.”
