The Man Who Fell to Earth EP teases plans for season two

Show times The man who fell to the ground The Season 1 finale aired on Sunday but that may not be the end of Faraday’s story. Created by Jenny Lumet and Alex Kurtzman The man who fell to the ground A sequel to the 1976 films of the same name starring David Bowie, itself inspired by the 1963 novel by Walter Teves. Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Faraday’s alien with Bill Nighy as Thomas Newton, the ancestor of Faraday played by Bowie in the original film. The series was well received by critics but Showtime has not announced a second season yet. Kurtzman is still hopeful that a sophomore season is coming.

“You know, I guess I never really like counting my chickens, and frankly, I feel like I want to approach every season of every show in some way as if it was the last season because I think the audience should feel that the journey they just took is between 8 to 10 to 12 episodes is a whole journey in itself,” Kurtzman said Limit. “Do we have a second season in mind? Definitely. Definitely.”

These second season ideas didn’t begin to come together until they went into production that first season. “Well, I think in the middle of the first season, it became clear that we wanted a second season,” Kurtzman says. “The ending obviously sets up a lot of things. Will the aliens come back? What would that look like? If season one is a metaphor for immigration, forget season two when they all show up. That sounds like a really convincing attack zone.”

For his part, Ejiofor will be satisfied if the series ends by the end of Sunday. He says, “I would say from my point of view, there was something very complete about it and that was immediately exciting. There was a completeness to it. You know, it wasn’t the kind of structure you’d prefer who had all these questions at the end and every kind commented on the cliffhanger And you don’t get satisfied with its conclusion. It felt like a performer, as an actor and also reading the script, it felt like everything was answered in a basic way, and it also left room for it too. I mean, very interesting room for story development if it goes like that.”

The man who fell to the groundThe entire first season is now available on Showtime.
