The Chicago White Sox hit one of the worst triple-plays you might see in baseball.
With the game tied in two rounds each at the bottom of the seventh inning against the Minnesota Twins, the Chicago White Sox somehow found a way to reach the worst three-game ever.
Chicago had already run one round in the first half of the Twins Griffin Jax on the Yoan Moncada base. Right before AJ Pollock entered the batting box, Adam Engel was substituted in the match by Gavin Sheets at second base, who was hit with a ball in his racket. After that, it was nothing short of absolute madness for the base for the White Sox to triple.

So how did this base management disaster happen? Well, neither Engel nor Moncada is tagged. Yes, Buxton made one helluva play to take out the middle catch, but what were Engel and Moncada doing?! Engel was brought into the game to run in place of spreadsheets and couldn’t even bother with marking. Moncada was running like a crazy man just to make things worse.
Of course, that horrible triple play at the bottom of the seventh inning ended any potential White Sox rally. This game went into extra innings, with the twins making four runs at the top of the tenth frame. Chicago has run once in the final, but everyone and their brother can take a look at the fatal century mistake as to why the White Sox lost the match.
With this loss, Chicago dropped to 38-40 on the season, while Minnesota improved to 46-37 on the year. The Twins lead by 5.5 games over the White Sox in the AL Central race, as Chicago finds itself four games after the last AL Wild Card berth. This is the season where the White Sox had to pay for the AL flag. Instead, this tottering team is breaking apart at the seams under Tony La Russa.
A team can never give up a home game against an opponent in the degree they’re chasing, especially like this.
