‘Boy Meets World’ Actors Reflect Morgan’s Rework After Season Two

The “Boy Meets World” team continues to attract fans behind the scenes. During Tuesday’s episode ofBud meets the worldDaniel Fishel, Will Friedel and Ryder Strong are joined by William “Rusty” Ross, who portrayed Alan Matthews on the ABC sitcom.

During the discussion, the group talked about the character Morgan, who was originally portrayed by Lily Nixai in the first two seasons. Morgan was missing in season 3 until episode 14 when Lindsay Ridgeway appeared as the new Morgan.

“I think there are some issues with growth,” Ross said of the paraphrase. “I’m not sure she was very happy at that time and Emily Longeretta Michael Jacobs, to his credit, could see that. He decided that it was best for her personally to let her try something else and go somewhere else.”

While Friedel noted that she “didn’t want to be there,” Fishel added that Nixey was “naturally funny and cute as a button” and probably didn’t want to be a child actor.

She continued, “We were talking about pressure. You really want it. It’s too much on your shoulders and she was 6 years old. I think she eventually got to a point where she was like, ‘This isn’t as fun as you guys all think.'”

The group also explained the “death chair.” During the first season of the show, several different child actors were brought into the show to be the third friend on the set of Shawn and Cory (Ben Savage). In the end, the writers realized they didn’t need it and went with a different dynamic. The same was the case with Morgan.

“They needed to bring the character back, because it was a whole other dynamic on the show and a whole other audience of the show,” Friedel said.

Ross added, “It all comes down to what they feel from the masses. Nothing has been done in a vacuum. Often you don’t know until you do. Try it and you’ll see.”
