Batman has some of the most recognizable characters in all of the comic book legends, and live action movies have yet to scratch the surface of this extensive catalog of characters. We’ve already seen some pretty cool versions of Batman himself, the Joker, and even Dark Knight’s loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth. Legendary actors like Michael Caine and Jeremy Irons have done an excellent job as Alfred, but this DC fan seems to have an idea of who should take on the next character. A digital artist created a cool concept for X-Men Stars Ian McKellen as Alfred Pennyworth with subtle comic design.
Instagram handler @Skull101ify has been commissioned to turn McKellen into Alfred Pennyworth which is really good. The actor is best known for his roles in X-Men A franchise named Magneto, as well as his role in Gandolph in the Lord of the Rings. In styling, Skull101ify removes McKellen’s hair and gives him a classic Alfred suit. You can check out the fan art below!
Recently, Warner Bros. and DC Comics released another reboot of Caped Crusader starring Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, and the actor is known for his social awkwardness within the press and he’s already helping him with that. Batman. Director Matt Reeves recently sat down with KCRW and revealed exactly how Pattinson’s physical awkwardness helped him play the Caped Crusader.
“Not only is that a clear face of who he is, because he’s clearly a part of it, but it’s something he’s in control of as well,” Reeves said on the podcast. “One of the things I have found so wonderful working with him is that he works in a way that almost feels like a style actor. However, you can see that he has great access to his emotions, and he puts himself into a situation. But he is also incredibly in control of his instrument, the way Which he’s moving in. It’s all very technical, and he’s very intentional. So I can tell him, I need this to be a little hotter, and he can get to that very easily. [And I could say] But I also, because of that cowl and the way the light hits your eye, I want you to lean a little more to your left, or else I won’t see your eye. He can do both of these things simultaneously.”
