Love and Thunder are said to have been given a runtime mandate

Thor: Love and Thunder It officially wrapped up its first weekend in theaters, grossing $302 million at the global box office. Now days after its release, Taika Waititi’s image is still dominating social conversations, in large part due to its divisive nature. Fans and critics alike were divided over their reception of the film, with many criticizing the film’s lack of focus and clarity.

As it turns out, much of that may be because Marvel Studios told Waititi to keep the movie under two hours. The latest report comes from ringer verses Joanna Robinson, who says the director was asked to keep the film short.

“Having Taika on this blank check is not the case at all. He’s got more space than he has Ragnarok, but there was a mandate to bring this movie in less than two hours. Robinson said on the last episode of House R..

She added, “Tika is on record for not being in the director’s cuts. We know Jeff Goldblum, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey. [were supposed to appear] And Simon Russell Beale appeared as Dionysus and had two streaks in this movie but has a higher line credit, so he was definitely supposed to be in this more. Gore was supposed to come and kill a bunch of people.”

Earlier this month, Waititi said the director’s cuts were “bad,” adding that his story would only add a few jokes.

“I’ve been thinking about director cuts. I watch director cuts for a lot of other directors. They’re bad. Director cuts aren’t good. Directors need to be in control sometimes and if I say, ‘Ah, you want to watch director cuts?'” It’s four and a half hours! It’s not good, at four and a half hours. There are plenty of breaks for a cup of tea, and you don’t even have to pause them,” Waititi explained to NME.

He added, “I would say my story will probably have some other jokes in there. There might be some scenes deleted but as I always say, the scene was deleted because it’s not good enough to be in the movie. I think the scenes deleted section on DVD, And not that they’re using it anymore, it should just be a list of scenes and there are no links so you can’t click on them!”
