In the future Barbie Movie, Ryan Gosling plays Kane, and while playing a fashion doll might not seem like a natural career path to most people, Gosling says it’s something to come of his life — and he’s doing it for all the sons of the world. Gosling said at the premiere of his latest movie, The Gray Man from Netflix diverse He believes that Keynes will “feel visible” with the film.
“This has been happening all my life,” Gosling joked slightly. “I think a lot of Kens will feel like they’ve gone through them when they see this. I have to do it for Kens of the world. Nobody plays with Kens!”
As for what to expect in the movie itself, Gosling told ET that the movie isn’t what anyone thinks—and he doesn’t think anyone has figured it out yet.
“It’s not what you think. Unless it is,” Gosling said. “And then you know what it is, but I don’t think that’s what you think.”
He went on to say he was excited for people to see the movie but it was also “not what you would expect” but he couldn’t say anything else.
“I can’t wait for people to see the movie,” Gosling said. “That’s all I can say, otherwise Mattel will come and corner me.”
