Resident Evil Ending Explained – Who is Ada Wong?

Netflix recently released the much awaited live TV show Resident Evil. The first season of the video game was developed by Andrew Dabb, and focused on Albert Wesker’s daughters, Jade and Billie Wesker. After moving to New Raccoon City, the two sisters reveal dark secrets about the Umbrella Corporation while also learning the truth about their father.

warning: This article contains spoilers for the first season of Resident Evil.

Right after moving into a planned Umbrella community, Jade and Billie learn about the drug company’s shadowy business. The sisters soon found out that Umbrella was responsible for the virus outbreak in Raccoon City in 1998. Thousands of people were infected with the T-virus, and the US government covered the whole thing by bombing the city with nuclear bombs. Furthermore, Jade and Billie discover that their father, Albert Wesker, is actually a copy of the original Albert Wesker, who died after falling into a volcano in 2009.

Clone Al manipulated Jade and Billie’s DNA so he could use their blood to fight his disease. During the process, Albert also made his daughters stronger, which is why the T-virus didn’t turn Billy into a flesh-eating zombie. However, that didn’t stop Billy from becoming a heartless geek and she ended up becoming the face of the Umbrella Corporation. She also ended up biting Simon after she lost control of herself, which is probably one of the many reasons why Jade left Billy.

In the future, we see that Jade Wesker has created a family for herself and has a daughter, Pia. On the other hand, Billy controls Evelyn and uses Umbrella’s resources to hunt down Jade. Billy uses Jade to find the university website, where she is introduced to Jade’s daughter, Pia. For some unknown reason, zombies don’t harm Bea, and Billy wonders if Jade has manipulated her daughter’s DNA to keep her safe in this world. However, Billy decides to kidnap Bey so she can audition for her and escape after shooting Jade.

In 2022, we see Albert sacrifice himself to save his daughters from Evelyn. He asks Bert (another version of Albert) to keep Billy and Jed safe. However, before blowing himself up, Albert handed a piece of paper to Jade while saying, “Find it.” In the car, Jade reads the note titled “Ada Wong,” who is probably one of Albert’s friends.

In the video game franchise, Ada Wong is an important character who debuted in 1998’s Resident Evil 2. After that, Ada returned as a playable character in Resident Evil 4. Ada mostly appeared as an “anti-heroine” in video games, because she betrays several people because of her secret agenda. She uses her charming personality to get into people’s minds and learn important information that can serve her in the mission.

Ada is a fan-favorite character due to her complexity, and the community also loves to watch Ada’s legendary chemistry with Leon Kennedy. Therefore, it would definitely be interesting to see this character in the Netflix adaptation of Resident Evil.
