This has provided a lot of relief to fans who were starting to fear that God of War might be delayed in 2023, but provided there are no last minute changes, this will not be is the case. With that said, it looks like Sony has been briefly considering a different release date.
Several tweets retweeted a deleted trailer for God of War Ragnarokindicating that the game was originally to be released on November 11, 2022. This was the original release date for Xbox starfield delayed until 2023. Considering PlayStation games are usually released on a Tuesday or Friday, the Wednesday release date raises some eyebrows. The deleted trailer with the incorrect release date was quickly removed with a redacted version. It’s unclear if this is just a typo or if Sony thinks it will release on November 11 at some point. After all, it would be strategic to take a release date for what would have been one of the biggest games of 2022. It’s possible that Sony chose to release it sooner rather than later or didn’t want to spur any bad blood, so it scrapped the release date. There are also some Norse myths surrounding the meaning of Wednesday, as that day of the week is dedicated to Odin. The above-mentioned character is expected to appear in the game.

As of now, Sony is doing its best to protect the story details in order to God of War Ragnarok, but it will create a lot of unresolved threads in the first game. The likes of Thor are expected, with the character’s signature hammer appearing even in the game’s collector’s edition. Kratos is highly expected to use the iconic weapon at some point in the game.
