Many around the wrestling world celebrated when Triple H announced that he was back during WrestleMania 38 weekend, and fans were thrilled to have him back and partner with NXT. According to a new report from Wrestling Newsletter Despite that, it looks like he’s not really in the NXT mix yet. The report says that although Triple H is already working in WWE on a regular basis, he still doesn’t practically work with NXT, and he wasn’t behind the scenes during NXT tapings.
As for his “I’m back” comments, it is now believed that he was probably only referring to WWE in general and not NXT specifically, though we’ll just have to wait and see if that changes. As of now, Shawn Michaels still oversees the brand, while the creative team reports to Bruce Prichard.
Johnny Russo is currently the lead writer and other wires include Nick Bonanno and George Carroll. Michaels took over Triple H after having to take time off due to health issues, although he was already working with Triple H to steer the ship there.
Despite its rough start, NXT 2.0 found its footing and began building around many stars, including Bron Breakker, Cora Jade, Carmelo Hayes, Roxanne Perez, Tony D’Angelo, Nikkita Lyons, The Creed Brothers, and more.
It has also brought in superstars like Mandy Rose, Dolph Ziggler, Natalya, Viking Raiders and most recently Apollo Crews, and the combination of experienced stars with fresh talent has turned a profit. Apollo appears to be on a collision course with Breakker, who actually faced Ziggler during his run, and it was easily one of Breakker’s best feuds to date. Natalya also worked with Jade while the Viking Raiders worked against the Creed Brothers, and it doesn’t look like this crossover is going to end anytime soon.
