New York Yankees quarterback Matt Carpenter had a heist after hitting Homer in three runs against the Boston Red Sox on July 16.
The New York Yankees enter the All-Star Championship with the best record in the MLS and a long way ahead of their Eastern Conference rivals. They didn’t make big strides like the old Yankees did. They’ve made some fairly smart moves, with one signing former St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers player Matt Carpenter. Since joining the Yankees in May, he’s been one of their best power hitters.
Carpenter showed his muscles again during the team’s July 16 game against rival Boston Red Sox. With Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton at the base, Carpenter’s home shot into the right stands at Yankee Stadium extended the team’s lead to 4-1.
Let’s just say Carpenter was feeling it after his first home of the night.
If you can believe it, he hit another blast after a few turns.
Matt Carpenter crushes home race against Red Sox
This was Carpenter’s 30th game for the Yankees, and it was his 13th game in that period.
Carpenter had originally signed with Rangers to start the season, but was selected to the minor leagues. The two sides eventually agreed to separate via release in mid-May. Then the Yankees called, and the rest was history.
Entering Saturday night’s game, Carpenter was hitting .352 and carrying a ridiculous .873 deceleration, while clocking 13 home runs, 27 RBI and 25 strokes.
The legend of Matt Carpenter continues in New York.
