‘Breeders’ renewed for season 4 in FX

“Breeders” has been renewed for its fourth season in FX.

The comedy series stars Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard in exploring the challenges of modern parenting. The third season, which concluded on July 11, came days after the end of season two, with the Worsley family swinging from Luke (Alex Eastwood) punching his father, Paul (Freeman). Paul has moved into his home and is staying at the home of his mother-in-law, Leah (Stella Jonnet). In the end, though, adjustments will have to be made with Luke. Meanwhile, Allie (Haggard) is struggling with her own problems at work, with her early menopause and with her increasingly strained relationship with her newly teenage daughter, Ava (Yves Brinell).

“Breeders” was created by Freeman, Chris Addison, and showrunner Simon Blackwell. All three executives produce alongside Richard Allen Turner, Rob Aslett, David Martin, John Thuday, Toby Welch and Michael Wiggs. The series has been commissioned by Sky Studios director of comedy Jon Mountague and commissioned editor Tilusha Ghelani to Sky UK’s director of content Zai Bennett and head of original programming at FX Entertainment Nick Grad. Avalon and FX Productions produce for FX and Sky.

“The Breeders have given us a special opportunity to watch the Worsley family grow with each season, and FX is thrilled to order a fourth season that will bring the next chapter to this funny, honest and brutal game about being a parent in today’s world,” said Grad. “Our thanks go to creators Simon Blackwell, Chris Addison and Martin Freeman, the entire creative team, Daisy and the cast and crew and everyone at Avalon, FX Productions and Sky. Their efforts are what guide and sustain the breeders and we are delighted to be part of that extended family.”
