Aside from collecting happy couples for cash prizes, ‘Love Island’ may be famous for influencing fashion all over the world. In the past, brands like I Saw It First and Missguided had the privilege of designing contestants in their own affordable pieces, for millions of ITV viewers to see and then buy. Now, for the first time ever, season 8 contestants are wearing used Ebay items in an effort to offset the environmental disaster that is fast fashion.
The show is already better off reinventing clothing. Aside from their partnership with Ebay, the show now welcomes contestants to wear their own clothes from home, adding even more exclusivity to the islanders’ style.
