Citizens of Washington Juan Soto carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. However, on Monday night, he came in a big way at Derby Home Run.
Soto He was not at his best during the first two rounds of the derby. However, in the finals against Julio Rodriguez, he made an offer. As Soto knows, it’s a classic mistake for young players to put in all their effort in the early rounds, and run out of gas in the last few minutes of play.
Rodriguez didn’t necessarily do this, but it was considered at home 17 times as beatable by Soto, who shot at least 20 times in just over two minutes, slinging crosses over the Dodger Stadium fence.
Juan Soto’s business rumors: The national star performs under pressure
Soto does not like to discuss his contract talks. The 23-year-old turned down a $440 million deal earlier in the week, although the AAV wasn’t as much as the total value of this contract might suggest. Scott Borras was looking for a similar evaluation of Max Scherzer for his clients.
Citizens face a complex property dispute, and Soto is not comfortable (for now) being associated with the organization for 15 years, at least not for less than $500 million. Soto’s swing Monday night was worth half a billion dollars.
Baseball fans agreed in unison, some even provoked Washington, whose young star is voluntarily punished with three years remaining on his current contract.
For Washington’s sake, I hope they can get back to the negotiating table with Soto, who prefers not to trade on the deadline.
