Back in the 1970s, Los Angeles was tortured by a killer who earned the nickname “Hillside Strangler,” a nickname created as several victims were found in the hills of Southern California. Initially believed to be one individual, it was later determined that two people were responsible for the heinous crimes, cousins Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono Jr. The Hillside Strangler: The Devil in Disguise On Peacock aims to investigate the tragedy and shed new light on the events, which may paint a very different picture of the crimes from what viewers thought they knew. The series is described,The Hillside Strangler: The Devil in Disguise, a four-part documentary series debuting August 2 on Peacock, offers a new, in-depth peek inside the minds of notorious serial killer cousins Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono who allegedly impersonated off-duty police officers to lure unsuspecting victims to their deaths before they left. Their bodies were found on the hillsides of East Los Angeles during the 1970s.
In 1979, in Bellingham, Washington, at the time of his arrest for the murders of two local women, Bianchi was not a suspect in the Hillside Murders. However, due to the similarities in both the Washington and California murders, not to mention the Bianchi murders. His recent departure from Los Angeles, investigators began to look into his relationship to the cases.When questioned, Bianchi flipped back and forth, taking turns and confessing to committing multiple murders in the Los Angeles and Washington areas.During his confession, Bianchi claimed he had a personality split and claimed that some of the killings had been committed by him. Someone else’s excuse.

The series takes an in-depth look at Bianchi’s psychoanalytic tapes and features audio recordings from the months after his arrest, which led to his conviction. This four-part series features new and exclusive interviews with those close to the case, including Bianchi’s ex-girlfriend at the time of the murder in Los Angeles, Sheryl Kellison.”
