Lincoln Riley in USC football fanfare causes mass donations to sports

Thanks to Lincoln Riley’s hype, more college football bets have been entered into the University of Southern California winning College Football Playoff than any other team in a Vegas sportsbook.

In what seemed like a blink of an eye, USC football has gone from unfulfilled frustrated to rival College Football Playoff.

First, the Clay Hilton replaced Lincoln Riley’s Trojans. Then Riley secured the transfer of star quarterback Caleb Williams. For good measure, he went out and was awarded the Beletnikov Jordan Addison Prize from Pete.

These headlines created a ridiculous amount of uproar around USC. It got to the point where the SuperBook in Westgate Las Vegas says the Trojans brought in more bets and money to win the tournament than any other team, per ESPN.

Those ill-advised bets amount to donations to the SuperBook.

Lincoln Riley caused a football stir at USC with mass donations to sports

USC will be more fun to watch this year, there’s no doubt about that. Riley was a Grand Slam employee and his transfer gate moves should return the Trojans to their former glory in time.

The idea that they are ready to win a national championship this year anyway? This is ridiculous.

Anyone who placed a bet on USC to win the national title in 2022 was too hypnotized by names like Riley, Williams and Addison to look closely at a roster that requires a major overhaul and still needs time to solidify it in key positions.

Trojans have zero depth on the offensive line. Yes, they’re back on the veteran front, but one or two sudden injuries might prompt Walkers to start innings. This is how delicate the situation is in the trenches.

The defensive line faces a similar problem deep in the front but the entire composition of the defense is a bigger concern.

USC’s defense was miserable in 2021. While Alex Grinch bolstered with additions like Shen Lee of Alabama and Romelu Height of Auburn, there Much of work to do from top to bottom with this unit. There are no national award winners who reach out to reverse the switch from “bad” to “elite” overnight.

Riley and the Grinch could do wonders at rebuilding attack and defense in record time and the Trojans would still be dealing with growing pains as the head coach and his staff instill a winning culture in a team that has been lacking for years.

USC is on track, but betting on a national championship early is to donate the money.
