Ryan Reynolds reveals Deadpool’s connection in Welcome to Wrexham Trailer

Ryan Reynolds unveils the new Welcome to Wrexham Trailer, and there’s a Deadpool connection there. While he and Rob McElhenney were answering questions from Asian club Wrexham fans, a young boy had a cute theory as to why they were up for the challenge of owning a football club. Simply put: Deadpool is red and so is Wrexham. Reynolds told the child that his theory came true. FX has already put its weight behind this series. Some of Ted Lasso’s magic may still be up in the air. Here in America, soccer fever has been building for decades. When you marry this obsession with one of the most beloved stars in the world, you have the potential to achieve massive success. The trailer takes a long look at Wrexham AFC and the community around it, and these folks have been rooting for the team for generations now. They just want to be happy and watch their club succeed. Both Reynolds and McEllini are committed to keeping the club at Wrexham. As a condition of purchase, the name and brand will remain the same. Wrexham AFC is believed to be the third oldest professional football club in the world. That would be 150 years of this iconic red taking the field. The Wrexham Group was founded in 1864.

They added: “All these people will help us create the kind of business opportunity that the third oldest club in the world deserves, and we will reinvest that revenue back into Wrexham AFC and the community.” “2020 has been a difficult year and there will likely be more public health challenges in the coming months, but we hope to cheer the team from the stands as soon as it is safe to do so in 2021.”

FX gave welcome to Wrexham Ordered for two seasons and the first starts on August 24th. Reynolds and McElhenney co-produced the documentary. Also along the journey are Nick Frenkel, Dean Lilligaard, Jordan Wayne, John Henion, Andrew Fried, and Sarena Roma.
