The Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves panel kicked off with SDCC maestro Eddie Abraham exiting to return to Hall H in person after a three-year hiatus. Eddy handed the painting over to commission supervisor Carl Jacobs, a big fan of D&D in his own right. The crowd was given the usual rules and regulations about recording etc and then we came out with a behind-the-scenes look!

…which unfortunately was a glitch and didn’t work properly. in the beginning. But then we got some epic movie making on the second try!

After the footage, producer Jeremy Lacham (Iron Man) was directed, along with director and screenwriting team Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daly. The pair joined Latcham in talking about how long they’ve worked on the film throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and how excited they are to be involved now.

Daley and Goldstein delve into their own D&D history – with Daley making it clear that the intent was not to recreate the game, so much as to capture Feeling From playing the game – that is, the camaraderie and the community you create.

Goldstein spoke of finally having a variety of visual effects — from classic animation to CGI — at their disposal, in order to create the world of Dungeons & Dragons and their creatures. Dali joked that they got the same VFX team that created Baby Yoda (Grogu), so what more do we want?

The cast of Dungeon & Dragons: Honor has been thrown among the thieves – starting with Chris Pine, who wore some long blonde hair. Michelle Rodriguez topped it off by doing a full flex on stage; Reggie Jean Page saluted the crowd and absorbed the applause.
