Jean-Michel Jarre sells the publishing catalog to BMG

BMG announced in the early hours of Thursday morning that it had acquired the entire catalog of music publishing for French electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre.

The deal combines the rights to groundbreaking albums like “Oxygene” and “Equinoxe” along with Jarre’s writer’s income. The company previously acquired the soundtracks for Jarre’s first three albums when it bought popular independent record label Francis Dreyfus Music in 2012.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, although, according to the context, according to the announcement, Jarre achieved sales of more than 85 million albums during his career.
