One of Yu Yu Hakusho’s surprisingly funny fashion shows is the highlight of the debut of Kurama’s live action movie series! Yoshihiro Togashi’s original manga series and follow-up anime are widely celebrated as some of the most memorable action releases ever, and it continues to this day even 30 years after it was fully animated. Now the franchise is ready for the kind of comeback fans certainly didn’t expect to see as there is currently a new live action adaptation in the works with Netflix. This new series will debut in classic blockbuster favourites, which includes some very famous faces.
This, of course, means we’ll see Kurama make his first live-action appearance since the series’ Spirit Detective arc, Kurama was one of the main quartet of heroes fans have seen over the course of the franchise. Kurama is one of the most unique fighters in the series overall, and now he’s got an even more unique look thanks to the Low Cost Cosplay artist on Instagram! Yo Yo Hakusho Netflix is currently working on a new live-action adaptation. Co-produced by Shueisha, TOHO, and ROBOT, and due to release worldwide in December 2023, Netflix begins describing the new Yu Yu Hakusho series as such, “The manga is about Yusuke Urameshi, a high school student who spends his days arguing and dies in an accident. While trying to protect a young child, while grappling with the fact that he’s looking down on his dead body, a woman named Botan, who calls herself a guide to the spirit world, brings him to the horrific truth: No one expected a delinquent like Yusuke to die doing an act of kindness, nor did he. He has no place in Heaven or Hell.”
The synopsis continues, “Thus, Yusuke is given a chance to resuscitate and, after passing his trial, becomes a detective in the underworld. From there, Yusuke becomes entangled in a mystery surrounding human, demonic, and spiritual realms. Yusuke’s adventure will now become a live action series on Netflix.” But what are you thinking?
