Black Ink Crew follows the daily events and drama at Studio Ceaser. Ceaser is known for being conceited and arrogant with his employees often complaining to each other about him. Overall, he is portrayed as being considerate of his employees and tattoo shop at all times and under all.

Caesar stated that he had a vision for the Black Ink and its place in Harlem. He wants Black Ink to be more than just a tattoo shop – he wants it to represent an entire culture.

The show has received strong reviews and has been a commercial success for VH1, as the store has a steady list of celebrities who come to Ceaser and his staff for their tattoos.

accusations of cruelty to animals

In July 2022, Caesar turned himself into police in South Fulton, Georgia for animal cruelty. The charges were filed weeks after a video purportedly showed Caesar hitting a dog outside his shop with a metal chair went viral.

When the video went public, Ceaser was quickly fired from the VH1 reality series franchise.

According to Ceaser’s attorney, the incident with the dog occurred during the COVID lockdown and was leaked by an angry ex-girlfriend. Caesar also claimed that security footage now showed his full intent, which is to break up a dog brawl.

In a statement a Ceaser representative told TMZ:

Although his actions were not appropriate at all, Ceaser sincerely apologizes and feels very bad. He deals with death threats that cause him fear and depression. His only goal was to build an empire to help build jobs and make the tattoo industry successful for the black community since the community is limited there.

Speaking of his dismissal from the franchise, a VH1 spokesperson released the following statement:

We’ve made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel of Black Ink Crew New York. Since next season was about to end production, this decision will not affect the next season.
