WWE reveals that only one of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships has been vacated

Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez became the new WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team champions at the Great American Bash, but unfortunately, their reigns were cut short after Jade turned on Perez during Perez’s match against Mandy Rose at the NXT Women’s Championship. Last week, Jade spoke about her actions and then tossed her title in the trash, which many assumed meant the titles were now vacant, but it seems WWE has just vacated her title. WWE website She removed Jade as part of the Champions, but Perez still retains her title, and a vacant silhouette now stands next to her (via Ringside News).

Perez didn’t appear during NXT this week after Jade turned on her ex last week, but you can expect Perez to make an appearance soon now that Jade has made her first heel show. When she does, we’ll probably find out what the plan is to find another partner to join her as the tag team champion.

At one point, Andy Hartwell teamed up with Perez and Jed in their battle against the Toxic Attraction, so maybe we’ll see their reunion? There’s always a chance that we’ll see a little tournament take place to see who should be in that spot, which could take some extra intrigue out of the scenario and set up nicely if the goal is to pair Jade with someone as well, although obviously not that is the case.

From the reports, it appears that WWE has been planning to turn Jade’s heels for a while, and definitely got some heat from her actions from the crowd, as fans rallied behind Perez even more after Jade’s attack. We hope to know more about the plan next week.
