Part of DC’s Jim Lee & Friends Panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 has been officially announced, legendary writer Todd MacFarlane and legendary artist Greg Capolo are officially collaborating for an all-new show. batman / spawn Comic book crossover. McFarlane will write the script for the issue with Capullo providing the in-house art, marking the reunion of the two who previously made countless major issues of the Spawn series together. In the time he’s since drawn on countless Batman issues, he’s teamed up with Scott Snyder on the fan-favorite “New 52,” making him the perfect artist for this new crossover.
MacFarlane previously told ComicBook.com in 2017 about another Batman & spawn crossover. “And then Greg ended up being the preeminent Batman artist for the last few years, so we’ve been kind of on top. Maybe we’ll relive that when the time comes. I think both characters visually fit in with each other, and I think there are enough differences in character that it’s not limited It’s on the same guy in a different suit. The story I told them was about how all are opposites—character flaws if you will. I hope one day I can find an opening there to do it myself.”
