The Boston Red Sox aren’t having a great time playing baseball right now, and they keep embarrassing themselves.
On Friday night against the Blue Jays, two different times, just catching a fly ball was just too hard for them. One resulted in a big in-park win, and the other scored a run.
The basics in baseball are still something to practice, right? What about the two hits that caused these players to miss balls? Did the lights go into their eyes or was it something else?
Whatever it is, it’s totally embarrassing because those are two things that professional baseball players have to know how to do.

While I would understand that some lights caused them to miss the ball for a second, keeping their eyes off it or not using any kind of communication with each other is not acceptable.
At the Grand Slam, it was supposed to be a routine shooting game that ended the inning, but instead the quarterback lost the ball, raised his hands, and by the time his teammate got the ball, Toronto had scored. Come on man, this is not a good look. He quit and didn’t even try to redeem himself.
I’m frustrated with the 6-0 loss, but giving up on that play made it an even bigger deficit. The quarterback gave up on that play, and that was obvious.
The second video clip shows this catcher summoning the third baseman and the bowler for another routine hunt. However, he doesn’t – instead, he stops moving, then looks at the third baseman, and the ball drops between them. Like where’s the communication in that play?
No excuse is acceptable at this point because these are basics that professional baseball players don’t do. I’m sure some fans will find a way to deal with their favorite players, but having two different games like those in one match is downright embarrassing.
