Thor prefers to go to his own planet

When Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky decided to have children, they returned to Australia where the Thor actor was born. He noted that the family found Los Angeles “suffocated” and that this was not what he wanted his children to grow up.

“I love what I do as an actor, but when you’re constantly surrounded by that it gets a little claustrophobic. We lived side by side in the suburbs and thought that’s not how we want our kids to grow up. It was kind of a farm here on the coast of Australia that was the best thing, Chris told Modern Luxury.

Mark Ruffalo

When Mark Ruffalo became famous, he decided not to stay in California. Mark and his wife packed their bags and headed to upstate New York in search of a country lifestyle, away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. Since the late 1990s, the couple has been living in Callicon, New York, where they can raise their children away from the spotlight.

“No matter where in the world I am, that’s what I call home,” Ruffalo said. “This has been an excellent community with a balance of locals and newcomers which I always find welcome. The people in this community are good people, and I think the place has held up really well. Here, I’m no better or worse than the next guy. It doesn’t matter if you’re an actor or not No. I appreciate that kind of respect.”
