EA is reportedly making another Marvel game in addition to Black Panther

Video game publisher Electronic Arts is said to be working with Marvel Games to create multiple projects associated with the comic book brand. Over the past day, new details have surfaced regarding Black Panther that is said to be in development at a new studio within EA. And while this title is still said to be in the very early stages of creation, it also presumably isn’t the only Marvel-related game that EA is working on.

According to the giant bomb Jeff GroupEA is working on another Marvel-related game that doesn’t include Black Panther. Grubb happens to be the reporter who revealed the details for this open-world game of Black Panther in the first place, and also went on to add that he’s heard that another such project is also being created at EA. However, it didn’t add anything else specific about the game, like the character, the superhero team, or the genre the game could focus on.

Based on his own guess, Grob estimates that EA likely secured a similar deal with Marvel that Square Enix previously had. In its own collaboration with Marvel Games, Square released titles such as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy And the marvel avengers. Since these releases, though, both studios that made each game have ended up selling out, which means the Japan-based publisher has wound up working with Marvel for the time being.

It’s also worth noting that over the past month we’ve heard similar reports that suggested more excitement for this collaboration between Marvel and EA. One such report suggested that EA may be working on a fighting game in the Marvel universe. While there’s obviously no guarantee that such a project will happen, Marvel certainly has an extensive history in the fighting game scene, which makes a return to the genre entirely plausible.

How do you feel about EA becoming the next big publisher working with Marvel? Do you have any hope of the games that might come from this potential partnership? Let me know either in the comments or connect with me on Twitter at Trustworthy.
