Tenoch Huerta calls Namor’s first-time suit-wearing ‘amazing’

On Saturday, Marvel Studios released the first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever At San Diego Comic-Con he confirmed what many had suspected for some time: Tenoch Huerta joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Namor, one of Marvel’s oldest and most famous characters. In the trailer, we get a first look at Namor Huerta who, even with a few updates to his overall outfit and origin, looks a lot like the character does in the comics complete with green swimming briefs and winged feet and while powerful for fans, it was an even bigger moment for Huerta.

In an interview with diverse (Across jimzradar) Huerta said that putting on Namur clothes for the first time was a great experience as well as an overwhelming one, even though it looks in a good way.

“It’s amazing,” Huerta said. “I mean, everyone pretends to be a superhero or to be a part of it [these] Movies then you are a part of it. Then you’re the superhero, and then you put on the costume. It’s your skin, your voice, your mind, your talent, your story. It is overwhelming.”

Namor’s transformation Black Panther: Wakanda Forever It appears to be inspired by Aztec culture and legend and represents another huge moment of diverse representation in the MCU. It’s something not lost in Huerta.

“It’s an honor,” Huerta said at the Marvel Studios show in Hall H. “I come from the hood, and thanks to the hood, I am here. I wouldn’t be here without the hood. A lot of kids in the hood are looking at us, dreaming of me being here, and they will.”

The film stars Tenoch Huerta as Namor, the king of a nation hidden under the sea, and the film also stars Dominic Thorne, Michaela Cowell, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livanale.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever It arrives in theaters November 11th.
