Liv Tyler’s ’emotional’ journey to find her real father Stephen Tyler | movies | entertainment

This evening, Friday, July 29, 2022, the heartbreaking and action-packed thriller Armageddon premieres on ITV4 screens at 9pm.

The 1998 Academy Award-nominated film featured work from Liv Tyler, the film’s star, and her father, Stephen Tyler, who made a soundtrack for the film. His band Aerosmith created the song I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing for the movie.

But long before Liv and Stephen worked together on the movie, they didn’t even know they were related.

Liv spent the first nine years of her life thinking her father was Todd Rundgren, of the band Utopia.

But when she was a little girl, she knew something was different from her. In 1997, she remembered having an epiphany and wrote about it in her diary.

She said, “My mom has a diary or something in which she wrote: ‘I think Stephen is my dad.

The Lord of the Rings actress later admitted that Stephen “just looks like her” was a hint of her genes.

Liv flashed back her childhood memories on an episode of The Jonathan Ross Show in 2015.

Liv admitted, “It’s an emotional story frankly. My mother was very young when she gave birth to me, and there was a bit of confusion about where I came from, but I was so loved and well cared for by all of my family.”

She revealed that she “discovered” Stephen was her father when she went to an Aerosmith party with her mother, Baby Boyle.

Liv explained that she spotted Stephen’s daughter, Mia Tyler, at the concert, and things started clicking in her mind.

She said, “I have a sister named Mia who is a year younger than me.” “And I saw her standing by the stage at a concert, and it was like looking at a twin. She looked just like me.”

When I looked at her mother, I realized the truth of her upbringing.

Leif continued, “It must be a chemical element in some way – DNA and genes. I felt a very strong connection when I met him as a little girl and didn’t know why at first, but I quickly figured it out.”

Despite the fact that Todd had raised Liv as her dad for nearly a decade, she still had a strong bond with him as dad even after the truth came out.

At the time, her surname was Rundgren, before she changed it to match her biological father.

She described Todd as a “wonderful dad” when she was growing up.

Leif continued, “He was a beautiful and wonderful influence in my life. I still consider him [as my father]. “

Liv’s mother had made a “pact” with Todd at her birth to keep paternity confusion a secret.

They agreed that Todd “would be Liv’s father and if she became a problem, we would tell her at 18”.
