Steam users were surprised by a new, disguised version. Console users are usually surprised by the stealth versions – especially Nintendo Switch users – but this time it’s the PC ones. The game is inspired by developers Honeyslug and Richard Hogg and publisher Annapurna Interactive. And not only is the game new on Steam, it’s new on PC after being exclusive to PlayStation devices for eight years. If you haven’t already connected the dots, the game in question is Hohokum, which was released in August 2014 on PS3, PS4 and PlayStation Vita. Today is the first time it has been made available on a platform other than PlayStation.
It is currently too early to report Steam user reviews due to insufficient data. However, what Steam users get for $9.99 is an “artistic” game with 75 games on Metacritic. At the time of its release, the game’s presentation was praised, but many felt that the gameplay episode wasn’t as polished or fulfilled as it could have been.
An official announcement for the game on Steam reads: “Play a curious kite-like creature and travel to colorful and curious worlds waiting to be discovered.” “Interact with characters and environments to uncover secrets or simply wander at your own pace and enjoy the surprises that unfold. While there are objectives and activities, at its core, Hohokum is a playground – a place to roam and get lost in.
As you would expect, the system requirements for the game are absolutely nothing. In fact, the minimum is the same as the recommended, meaning that you need a 64-bit processor and an operating system. This is it. Get this and $10 and you’ll get four to seven hours of colorful content.
