Euphoria’s Sidney Sweeney mentioned why she keeps doing nude scenes

TEmmy-nominated Sidney Sweeney is best known for her role as Cassie Howard in HBO’s Euphoria, one of the network’s best-reviewed shows about the vagaries of growth and how life for some teens is more brutal than you might think.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sweeney opened up about what it means to be a sex symbol and what her nude sex scenes are.

You’ll keep doing nude scenes

She stated that she “won’t stop” doing nude scenes because “people forget I’m playing a character,” Sweeney said, “they think, ‘Oh, I’ve gone nude on screen, she’s a sex symbol.'” “…I have no problems with those scenes, and I will not stop doing them.”

While conducting the interview, Sweeney also stated that she wishes there was an easier way to have an open conversation about how to counter public opinions and assumptions about actors and actresses.

She is an Emmy-nominated actress

She received two Emmy nominations, one for “White Lotus” and one for “Euphoria,” and has stated that she takes her career too seriously to sleep to make her mark in Hollywood, and states that she still feels like an outsider.

“I had no idea getting into this industry how many people have connections. I started from scratch, I know how hard it can be,” she commented.

I worked my ass

“Now I see how someone would walk in the door, and I’m like, ‘I’ve worked my ass for 10 years for this. “

Sydney also told the news outlet that in order to keep up with Hollywood, she has to fend for herself because she doesn’t have anyone to back her up.

“If I want to take six months off, I don’t have income to cover it… I don’t have someone to support me, I don’t have anyone I can turn to to pay my bills or call for help.”

She plays Cassie Howard

Her most recent role in Euphoria was a very sexual one as her character Cassie Howard was having an intimate relationship with her ex-boyfriend and boyfriend Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi. While portraying a high school student, they engage in a highly disruptive relationship that highlights the power roles of an “unconventional” relationship.

Characters created by Sam Levinson

Show creator Sam Levinson has been great at getting the artists to understand the character’s motivations, context, and decisions in such a way that the actors and actresses trust each character’s development, Sweeney notes that she gets so excited when Sam writes that she’s so focused on childbirth that she forgets she’s naked.
