Pam Greer and Chris Parnell Star in Zombie ‘As We Know It’

“Jackie Brown” star Pam Greer, “30 Rock” actor Chris Parnell and “Project X” star Oliver Cooper are set to headline “As We Know It,” a standalone thriller that unfolds amid a zombie nuclear disaster.

Set in late ’90s Los Angeles, the comedy follows struggling writer James Bishop, who deals with a chaotic breakup with the help of his best friends while trying to finish his last book before the impending apocalypse.

The cast will also include Mike Castle (“Brews Brothers”), Taylor Blackwell (“Designated Survivor”) and Tic Tucker Danny Mondello, who will direct his film debut.

Josh Monkarch is directing the film, which began production in Los Angeles at the end of July and is expected to finish in early August. Monkarch co-wrote the script with Christopher Francis and Brandon DePaulo.

Monkarsh, Daniel Cummings (“Slayers”) and Josh Fruehling (“Mandela Effect”) will serve as producers on “As We Know It” with a co-production by K. Asher Levin (“Slayers”). Traffic City Productions supports the film.

Monkarsh’s previous credits include the short films “Fighter Pilot” distributed by the International Finance Corporation, and “Ethan Baskin’s Evolution”, which premiered at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival. He also served as executive producer on “Slayers” starring Abigail Breslin, as well as “Dig” starring Jane and Emile Hirsch.

Grier is best known for starring in a string of 1970s action and blaxploitation films, including “Foxy Brown,” “Coffy,” “The Big Bird Cage,” and “Friday Foster.” On the television front, she has appeared in the Showtime series “The L Word” and the ABC sitcom “Bless This Mess”.

After his debut on “Saturday Night Live,” Parnell played Dr. Leo Spaceman in “30 Rock” for several seasons. He also voiced Jerry in “Rick and Morty” and appeared in the Disney+ movie “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.”

Cooper broke out as Costa in the 2012 comedy “Project X” and later starred in “Californication” and “Mindhunter” on Netflix.
