The Detroit Tigers replaced relief player Michael Vollmer with the Minnesota Twins just minutes before the deadline.
fulmer He is a good back-end relief shooter and despite his injury issues, he should be able to succeed in Minnesota with a very familiar opponent.
With Detroit playing in Minneapolis to start the week, all Vollmer has to do is walk through the locker room. Fulmer has a 3.20 ERA and 3.22 FIP so far this season in Detroit, where he helps set up Gregory Soto, along with Andrew Chafin, who was also a commercial candidate. His 23.1 per cent strike rate and 11.5 per cent swing strike only help matters.

Gibson Long was a former sixth-round pick. It could be a good prospect, but it doesn’t rank highly in the Minnesota system.
Al Avila could be on his way out of Detroit, and moves like that won’t help him in a year’s run. Avila oversaw the rebuilding of the majority of tigers and why? Relief shooters like Vollmer, who is on a contract year, must return at least a top 30 potential customer.
For Minnesota, Vollmer should slide to the back end of their disc, just as he was in MoTown. The twins’ pen remains a weak point, but as Vollmer approaches, the deadline for active Minnesota trading ends with the addition of another useful piece to the club.
