John Boyega reveals why he doesn’t want to be in a Marvel movie right now

In a new interview, he revealed that – at least in part – there’s a simple reason he’s not doing a Marvel movie: He doesn’t want to at the moment. After years of working on a huge franchise, Boyega seems to have taken his money and his name off the ground, trying to use it to advance small businesses that he considers “new ideas.”

That doesn’t mean he doesn’t respect Marvel, or that he might not later, but for now, the actor wants to do something else. He says the role of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark still looms large for the actors weighing in on Marvel’s opportunity.

“That’s not in the vision for me right now,” Boyega said. men’s health. “I want to do subtle things… I want to donate my services to original independent films that come up with fresh and new ideas, because I know it’s really hard to outshine Iron Man in this universe.”

Addressing some rumors about how his story might be different in the originally planned finale for the Skywalker Saga, Boyega told an interviewer that Finn’s abandoned story would be the only way he might end up returning to the franchise. He suggested, in fact, that he could see it play on Disney+ as an animated series.
