Welcome to the world of dreams. The release date of Netflix’s The Sandman series is approaching, as the much-anticipated adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s beloved comic books has been presented in DC.
The Sandman is described as “a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fantasy, historical drama, and mythology seamlessly intertwine.” Follows Dream aka Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), the master of the Dreaming realm. He is one of the Seven Endless People, including his sister Death (Kirby Howell Baptist).
After astrologers captured Dream in 1916, he was imprisoned for more than a century. When he comes out, he finds that his kingdom is in complete disarray and that the living nightmare has escaped the Corinthian (Boyd Holbrook). Setting things right won’t be easy, as Morpheus also finds himself up against Lucifer Morningstar (Gwendolyn Christie) and deals with crypto-detective Johanna Constantin (Gina Coleman).
Gaiman is an executive producer on The Sandman and has given his full approval for the series. “This Sandman was made for people who love Sandman by people who love Sandman,” Gaiman said in a teaser video.
