Smiling Friends is currently working hard with Season 2 of the original animated series, but Adult Swim will be bringing the series back for a new special this summer and have released a new promo to help celebrate! After the first season premiere in which Adult Swim surprisingly debuted the entire episode slate over the course of one unannounced evening, the series became one of Adult Swim’s biggest new hits and it was no surprise to discover it had already been selected for a second season. But soon fans will be watching more of the series than they expected!
This new special episode takes the honorary name smiling friends Outside of their usual place of work, as the promo for the episode indicates that they will go on a new adventure in Brazil. All fans can see if they’re traveling through the airport at the moment, so there’s still no telling what could happen in the full episode itself given how hard it is to predict the story from any regular episode of the series. “The Smiling Friends Go to Brazil” will premiere on Adult Swim on Saturday, August 6 at 11:30 PM EST. It will air with HBO Max the next day if you’re not able to catch it while it’s live, however, Adult Swim describes the special episode this way, “The Smiling Friends finally relax in a beautiful Brazilian beach town; Beam works on his narration; Charlie indulges In plenty of torrenting on his portable hard drive, Alan and Gleb are enjoying some much-anticipated relaxing time at the beach.”
